Gratitude is an album by jazz saxophonist Chris Potter released on the Verve label in 2001. The award-winning virtuoso and composer is compelling on his tributes to John Coltrane, Eddie Harris, Wayne Shorter, Charlie Parker, and several other legendary saxophonists.

This album finds Chris Potter boldly departing from the traditional jazz script. Overdubbing multiple woodwind harmony lines on "Salomé's Dance," "Checking Out," and Al Foster 's "Bonnie Rose," Potter opts for a more layered sound than that heard on most jazz records. Larry Goldings ' organ and John Hart 's guitar (both acoustic and electric) contribute other unexpected textures in Potter 's music.

Pure (Chris Potter album). Pure is a studio album from saxophonist Chris Potter released 1994 for Concord Records. Appearing on the album is frequent collaborator John Hart on guitar, in addition to pianist and organist Larry Goldings. According to Neil Tesser, Goldings plays with "virtually none of the traditional organ-jazz fare" on this album.

Chris Potter (2) ‎– Pure. Label: Concord Jazz ‎– CCD-4637. Early recording by Chris Potter, this release exhibits an advanced maturity in composition, arranging and instrumental work. Chris employs several reed instruments and flute on this recording and multitracks several reed instruments to create interesting harmony lines in the arrangements. Larry Goldings plays organ on three tracks and plays piano on an additional three tracks. Reply Notify me Helpful.
